I grew up in the North East of England in a small seaside town, I moved to Leeds in the mid 90s to study at University then went onto live in Manchester in the mid 00s before making the journey ' down south' to Ely, Cambridgeshire in 2013, where I have settled. Ely is not my first home, but it is the first place that has felt like home since my place of birth, so I am not going anywhere now!
I qualified in counselling right the way back in 2005, so I guess I have been around for sometime! In the earlier part of my career I mainly worked in supporting young people in education, the community and in health settings and did not start practicing as a counsellor until 2014 when I moved down to the lovely little City of Ely.
I set up my private practice in 2017 after I achieved BACP accreditation in 2017 and have provided short, medium and long term therapeutic support to many different people in the Cambridgeshire area and beyond.
I took an additional training in EMDR completing this in 2020 and then becoming accredited practitioner in July 2024. I also have additional qualifications in working with family life stories in the therapeutic space and have had additional training in CBT, Acceptance and Commitment therapy
I would also like you to know about me is that I have lived experience of neurodiversity, My core values personal and professional lie around human relationships, equality and inclusion.
